NESA welcomes John Underhill as returning chair

NESA’s annually rotating chair role has returned to the University of Aberdeen and John Underhill, Interdisciplinary Institute Director - Energy Transition. John takes over the reins for the coming year from North East Scotland College’s Strategic Lead of Energy Transitions, Susan Grant.

The NESA Board are grateful to Susan for her leadership over the past year, overseeing the growth of NESA’s partnership activities and national recognition through prestigious award successes.

Susan said: “It has been a privilege to serve as NESA’s chair this past year, helping to strengthen our reach and industry partnerships – as evidenced in NESA’s Herald Education Award for Energy Partnership. Energy Transition is fast evolving, and NESA’s innovative collaborative skills development work will become ever more crucial in helping businesses and individuals maximise the opportunities the transition offers.”

John said: “I’m delighted to be returning as NESA chair and be part of this impactful partnership. NESA’s past successes demonstrate the strength of academic and industry collaboration, and I look forward to helping build and further expand NESA’s activities. Demand-led, accessible skills development is a cornerstone of the UK's mission to be a Clean Energy Superpower and a just energy transition, and one NESA is primed to deliver.”
