With funding secured from the Scottish Government’s Just Transition Fund, NESA is working to deliver a Skills Analysis and Just Transition Skills Plan to 2030, to address the skills and knowledge gaps identified in industry, by working with the North East’s three Tertiary Education providers – University of Aberdeen, North East Scotland College, and Robert Gordon’s University to develop training and courses. The partnership’s aim is to deliver upskilling and reskilling training to at least 400 people, free of charge, in 2023/24.
As part of this project, NESA hosted a series of workshops with industry and academia across June and July 2023, to facilitate discussion across the energy industry on the skills that need to be addressed for energy transition to be delivered. The initial findings and recommendations from these workshops are now available to download below.
